The Proper Way Of Removing Vanity Plumbing
The pathetic state of the vanity plumbing makes the job associated with it, a complex task. Constant prevalence of a foul odor in the vanity enhances the difficulty of the job.
Vanity is the area that surrounds the bathroom sinks. Though the task of replacing the vanity plumbing appears daunting at first sight but with proper utilization of plumbing tools, the task can be confined to half an hour only. An adjustable wrench, a bit of elbow grease, Teflon tape etc. are the elemental supplies that play a key role in the success of the project.
Shut off the water supply to the sink by turning off the valves located below the hot and cold water faucets. For the immovable valves, use an adjustable wrench.
Sometimes, passage of the pipe possesses water pressure which may hamper the proceedings. Turn on the hot water and cold water taps to dissipate any such pressure. The presence of pressure in the pipe line leads to complications later.
Move to the hot water line and detach it from the rest of the setup. Unscrew the bolt of the hot water line located at the peak of inside vanity. Do not detach the rest of the line setup as it forms the part of the faucet organization. Do the same with the cold water pipe as well.
Now, move onto the rest of the hot water assembly and unscrew the fixture. The associated screws are located along the connection between the shutoff valve and the water pipe. Do the same with the cold water setup as well.
Start unscrewing the vanity pipe by easing the associated bolts. Make sure that a bucket or a container is placed under the pipe fixture to collect the water. Normally, the S-portion of the pipe holds some water and doesn’t spill it. Hence, handle the pipe carefully to prevent water from dripping down.
Make way for the replacements of the vanity fragments such as faucets, sink, vanity etc.
