Developments Made To Google Displays Will Not Affect SEO As Some Have Prophesied

Google has launched the Google Instant version of its search engine which is a significant step in the process of searching for world wide web content. The change is that as opposed to putting in words related to the search and pressing Enter, or selecting the Go button, the list of possible links displays live as more search words are entered. It’s very clever and makes searching much more straightforward since a search can be refined and tweaked with instantaneous results.

What does this mean for search engine optimisation? Well, it depends on where you sit. If you are presenting yourself as an affordable SEO company and selling search engine optimisation services then it really will not make a lot of difference at all. Lots of journalists have been speculating that it is putting an end to online marketing and will level search engine optimisation to a triviality.

If you are a firm with a site and have hired the services of a software consultancy or retained an affordable SEO company to put your website to the top of the search results pages, it’s a great idea because you can see immediately if your coin is being effectively spent with a positive purpose.

I don’t concur that the end is nigh for search engine optimisation. For the simple reason that the way Google, Yahoo and the others work their search magic is completely unaltered. They still bank on gathering links and keywords so as to calculate the significance of a search word to a potentially suitable web page. And as the algorithms are always being tweaked (which would make a huge difference) then just amending the way that Google displays its results make not make a bit of difference.

In another world, if a software consultancy recommended altering the way your website was designed without really altering the information shown then there is no major change to anything except to the eye of the beholder. An amendment to the way the information was gathered based on a recalculation of how the database was scanned would be a massive change. And thus it is with Google Instant. The techniques of the search engine optimisation consultant stays the same as it was up to the point of the upgrade.

It is fair to say that everyone whose income relies entirely on someone else is always likely to be worried about any changes that could be made having a harmful effect. This is in fact the exact same position as someone who works in a factory who may sweat about his employer boxing up all the plant and tools and sending them off to China or Malaysia, or in fact someone who works for anyone else who may get up with a hideouos hangover and fire the whole department.

The truth is that the search engine optimisation will forever be subject to disturbance if Google was to severely change the way the search engines operate. But the point that they do work and anybody would need an stunningly good excuse to pluck and re-feather the golden goose.

So anybody who has an affordable SEO company (or an expensive one) need have no fear about Google changing and improving the way it presents search results. It makes no difference whatever to how search engine optimisation works.
