Is your business listed in Bing Local?

I recently wrote an article about 3 FREE Ways to Get Your Company Online. Afterwards I realized that I had over looked Microsofts Search Directory Bing. Bing was originally launched in 2009 and has been rapidly grabbing a fair share of the search market. Bing has a search feature where searchers can search locally businesses simular to Google Places. It’s called Bing Local and it’s a great addition to your marketing plan.

Bing Local is excellent for getting additional exposure for local searchers. As a bonus, clients can easily get directions, office hours and links to your website. When I recently listed a new business to Bing Local I found the site was indexed by Bing within 48 hours which is rather amazing.

It is easy to get your business listed in Bing, head to the Bing Local Listing Center. Once your there, you’ll be able to verify if you already have a local listing for your business set up. If you do, you can update it. If not, now is the perfect time to create one.

When you create your listing it’s really important that you take the time to complete accurate business listings in Google, Yahoo, Bing and the other third-party service providers. The more accurate your information is about your company, the better are the chances your customers are going to find you in search results. And when it only takes a few minutes, is there really any excuse not to give your Web site the best possible chance at ranking? No. There’s not.
