Shoot for the Moon and boost your business
A standard definition of “shoot the moon” is to aim high. It essentially means set higher than normal goals for yourself, and try your best. Don’t aim at easy-to-reach goals. Go for something that shows the best of your ability. A couple of months ago, I talked with a client and my recommendation was to dream big – bigger than what might even be considered possible. My reasoning is that by stretching a vision, a person automatically stretches possibility. You might not hit the moon, but when you hit the stars, you likely will hit a goal much bigger than you would have through making a ‘reasonable’ goal. Shooting for the moon is one of the most effective strategies I have used to grow my business. It has enabled me to increase my annual income, not by 5 or 10 percent, but by 300%. Since implementing this strategy, it has enabled me to reach more customers, service my current customers better and expand my services more than I could have ever imagined. When I first started my web development company I took very thought out traditional steps. But when I started thinking outside the box and kicked thing into overdrive, I was amazed at the results. No one has ever achieved extraordinary success without shooting for the moon. Every single successful business person that I have interviewed has attributed a part of their success to dreaming the impossible. Many well intentioned experts have told us that we should only set reasonable and timely achievable goals. They are afraid that if we set goals that are to lofty, we won’t achieve them, which may cause us to give upon those goals and abandon the goal setting process altogether. Setting goals that are reasonable and achievable will severely limit your ability to achieve extraordinary results. I must admit that by using conventional goal-setting methods of setting achievable, reachable goals will significantly improve your results. However, if you use the shooting for the moon approach of dreaming bigger than you can possibly achieve, the changes and improvements will be far greater. If your only hope for your business is to experience a moderate to good results, then setting reasonable and easily achievable goals will help you do just that. However, that is all you will achieve. But if you want to achieve the impossible like Edison, Ford, Richard Branson and Bill Gates, then you must train yourself to shoot for the moon. When President Kennedy challenged America to put a man on the Moon within a decade and return him safely to Earth, learned eyebrows were raised because the technology needed did not exist at the time. However, the decision to set a firm goal spurred the scientific community into action. Inspired by their President’s vision, scientists who had considered it impossible changed their mentality from, “It can’t be done” to “How can we make this happen? Similarly, when you set yourself a goal it is not necessary to have all the know-how [...]

Create A Marketing Plan That Gets Results
Every business is different. Service businesses aren’t marketed the same way as product businesses are. Online businesses aren’t always marketed the way offline businesses are. How you market will depend on the type of business you are running, but some factors are common. Marketing is not the same thing as advertising. In advertising, you are getting your name and your product name out there for people to see and eventually buy. With marketing, you are creating a plan of the different types of advertising you are using to promote your business. There are many ways that you can promote your business. For example: *Classified advertising in newspapers, magazines, ezines and on other web sites *Public Relations (i.e. press releases and articles If online, search engines, banner advertising, and other sites) *Television and Radio commercials *Creating your own Newsletter *Writing Articles *Joint Venture Proposals The choices are endless. What you want to do first is choose the methods that you think will work best for your business. The important thing to remember here is that you once you have created a marketing plan, you have to constantly reevaluate it to see if it is working. If you are spending money on advertising, and you aren’t making any sales, then it’s time to try testing new ads, change the publications or sites you are advertising in, or write new ads.

My Best Blogging Tips
My best blogging tips 1. Choose keyword for your blog: Choosing the right keywords when your Website is new can be tricky as well as time consuming. Your keywords are the fundamental building blocks of your online success. After making your blog now its time to choose some best keyword within your niche. For example my blog niche is small business and my keywords are small business marketing, small business development, internet marketing. SEO keyword suggestion tool is one best free keyword suggestion tool that I use for choosing my keyword. 2. Use keyword: You have selected your keywords. Now its time to put your keyword on appropriate place. The repetition of certain words and phrases can help search engines understand the subject of your blog post, and increase that post’s rank in search for those terms. You have to be conscious of this repetition, these keywords and key phrases, in blog post titles, initial paragraph, category and tag assignment, image tags, and subheadings in your copy, as well as the title tags for the blog itself. Use the most important keywords in your blog post title. Never overload your content with keyword, just put your keyword on appropriate place. Try to make keyword density 3-4% within your content. 3. Internal linking: It is one most important SEO factor. If you noticed on my blog I hyperlinked my main keyword “small business marketing” to my blog home page. Furthermore internal linking to other post is also important. Many blogs contain links to specific posts in the sidebar. Linking to those that are the most popular is a good way to increase your page views and also to improve your internal link strength. Also link to your other related post from within your new post your by using anchor text. 4. Fresh content: Blog readers want frequent fresh content, so it is important to post on your blog regularly. Without it, your blog will not survive. Remember that “content is king”, with out valuable content you can not able to get traffic on your blog. Here are 4 ways to keep the content on your blog fresh. Guest Posts – in every 100 or so readers there is bound to be 1 that has the knowledge, expertise, motivation and skill to contribute posts to your blog. Update Previous Posts and Topics – expanded upon, updated, improved or rewrite old post a with fresh insight. Hire someone – If you do not have the time or just don’t want to update your blog yourself then you can always hire someone. Frequent Forums – Some of the best ideas for new and fresh content I’ve had come from questions asked on some of the forums I frequent. If you keep an eye on a few forums within your niche, there will be questions popping up that you know the answer to, but haven’t realised that there is a knowledge gap within your readership. 5. What’s The Purpose of BLOG COMMENTS?
I read – and comment on – a number of blogs every day and I have several goals I try and accomplish when commenting on other peoples blogs. I hope that these strategies help you as they have helped me to increase my blog and website traffic. They are: 1. Catch the attention of the readers 2. Catch the attention of the blogger 3. Develop my company brand 4. Create some good backlinks Catch the Attention of the Readers My primary purpose for blog commenting is to gain new readers to my own blog. To achieve this I use these three stratigies: 1. Provide QUALITY content– ‘I agree with you’ is not a quality comment 2. Better first not last – I comment when a blog is first posted so my comment is not buried at the end 3. Commenting on current posts – activity is usually highest on a fresh post To achieve these things, I try to be one of the first people to comment on a post. There is a tool you can use to make early commenting a little easier for those in your timezone and that is called Comment Sniper. This is a free tool that will poll your chosen blogs every few minutes to check for new posts. As soon as a new post appears the tool will let you know either via email or even SMS if you like. Using this you can know as soon as a blog you are targeting publishes a new post and be one of the first to comment. Download Comment Sniper free here. Catch The Attention of the Blogger The author of most blogs love discussing the subject of their blogs. If you leave a comment that provides Ask Questions – Including specific questions in posts definitely helps get higher numbers of comments. Trying To Be Enthusiastic – There are few things more enjoyable than talking enthusiastically about something you’re passionate about, and feeling others share your enthusiasm. Interact with comments left – Authors like when people interact and discuss the subject of the blog. This makes the blog more entertaining and informative to the next reader. Email the author – Every author likes to know that they are providing good content Develop my Company Brand My brand is my company name, and I suppose my logo. The best way to promote your brand is to be everywhere! Of course, being everywhere is very time consuming * build trust – One reason that so many blogs fail is that they aren’t (or don’t appear to be) trustworthy sources, nor are they trustworthy humans. So we move on. You do 95% of it right, then use reprint an old article or lie a bit or try too hard and boom, that’s it. * be personal – Readers love when you tell real life experiences. If you must tell someones else’s experiences, quote them. * use story – People love to be entertained while learning. Telling your experiences through [...]

What does your website do for you?
When a new visitor comes to your website for the first time an initial impression will be formed pretty quickly. A good first impression will increase the chances of that new visitor returning to your site again, and a bad first impression will be almost impossible to overcome. It is a good idea to find out what your customers ant and expect, before your competitors do. here are some of the basics that you need to be aware of when designing you website. 1. First impression Web users form first impressions of web pages in as little as 50 milliseconds (1/20th of a second), according to Canadian researchers. In the blink of an eye, web surfers make nearly instantaneous judgments of a web site’s “visual appeal.” A good first impression will increase the chances of someone visiting your site again, but a bad first impression is very difficult to shake. 2. Red Carpet Treating your customers like they are important is another critical factor in providing better service to those who do business with you. One of the most critical factors for outstanding service is to treat customers with dignity and respect. Surprise your customers by giving them more than they expect. By exceeding customer expectations, you will win friends who hold important influence over your success. All ways listen carefully to what customers are saying. Try and treat others like you want to be treated. Better yet, treat every customer as if they were your mother and your only goal in life is to impress her. 2. Education One of the main reasons that people use the Internet is to educate themselves about products and services. Potential Customers often look to your website to provide them the information they want to know about your company or service. They want to know background information about your company and your products, testimonials from other customers, information about your staff and management, and some helpful and pleasing graphical information will all help to promote your business. Online customers are looking for enough information on which to make a decision. 3. Working for you 24/7 Your website never takes a break. Online customers shop day and night. With today’s analytic tools a business has the opportunity to study peoples activity patterns, which can help you learn more about your business. 4. Earn Additional Income Once you have put in your hard work and have built up a regular amount of monthly visitors. You can make additional income by offering advertising plans to anyone who may be interested. This could provide a very nice bonus at the end of each month. Be cautious though; make sure not to go overboard with ads. Too much can prove to be detrimental to your traffic rates and returning visitors. 5. Announce Other Products/Services/Websites Having a website allows you to announce new products/services/events you may start-up. This gives you a better platform to generate traffic quickly and effectively on your new project instead of having to go through [...]

Google Startup Kits – Scammed me twice
DO NOT GET SUCKERED I feel like such an idiot right now that I had to share this experence with you with the hope that you do not fall for the same scam. I’m talking about the sites and blogs out their that you can make thousands by posting Google ads. My name is virgil, and I’m a web designer by profession. l do most of my marketing off-line. I recently decided to get serious about my online marketing and capitalize on my knowledge (or lack there of in this case) by putting more effort into social marketing or reationship marketing. In order to do this I ave been writing a lot of original content, reading blogs, and posting to forums. So, this morning I run across an hub page that is titled something like college drop out makes $9000 a month posting links for google. Now i’m not a fool and i understand that 99% of ads over embellish their products. But my thinking was, they are only asking for $1.97. That is not much and if it is Bull ****, it was $1.97 worth of internet tuition. So, it was a great ad copy, so much so that I did not do any do diligence. I read the complete ad and pulled out my PayPal card. You guessed it. Here comes the Bull. You are probably asking why I am so pissed. This is why. I am no newbie to the internet and when it comes to risk I keep it at a minimal. n this particuar situation, when I submmited my payment info I received an error message telling me that I had entered in the wrong 3 digit verification code. So I tried again and again, about three times. STILL BEING MOTIVATED, I pulled out my other PayPal account card,( i have differnt accounts for differnet online businesses) and proceeded to process the purchase again only to recieve the same message. “you have entered an invalid code”. So at this point i’m like screw it. Then the bells went off. I decided to check my account, the first one I used. And sure enough there was a charge for $1.97. So immediately I switched accounts. And wouldn’t you know it, another $1.97. So i’m pissed and embarrassed at my stupidity. What I should have done is what Kellysgirl did(Google Start-up Kits – IT’S A SCAM). So now i have to did with PayPal, and if you do not know that can be a process. So PLEASE LEARN FROM MY HASTE. Do your home work first. Glen wrote a good article ” 10 ways not to get scammed online “. I hope this real story has enlightened you. I did not write this article to enhance your fears about online transactions. I wrote it as good advice. Virgil Griffin, editor All About Small Business Feel free to explore some of the best articles (hubs) that I have written here and they have made good money for me.I [...]
